A magical family break at Woolley Grange.

Annabelle cried all the way home from Woolley Grange 😦 She really didn’t want to leave and to be honest, when she finally fell asleep in the back of the car, I had a little cry too! What a special place.

We decided to book this hotel as a last-minute break for my birthday. We wanted somewhere family friendly and it certainly ticked that box.

Not only is the hotel in a stunning countryside setting, but it also has so many activities for little ones to enjoy. The whole time we were there I kept thinking how much I would have loved it as a child and I truly believe Annabelle has made some lasting memories here. We didn’t even leave the hotel and explore the local attractions because we were having so much fun in the hotel grounds.

Here are my five favourite parts of the holiday to add to your ‘must do’ list when you visit:

1: The pool – (there are two, indoor & outdoor, but it wasn’t quite warm enough to make use of the outdoor pool during our stay). They have really thought of everything in the pool area. They even have a family changing room with its own shower and toilet, plus travel cot to pop your little ones in while you get changed. There are pool toys and floats and it was lovely and warm which was perfect for Charlotte’s first swim!

2: The Walled Garden – this was my favourite area. A beautiful place to sit in the sunshine while the kiddies play. Full of flowers, vegetables & herbs grown for the restaurant and there is even a little witches house tucked amongst the gardens, which you can peek inside. There are ducks wandering around, a rather lazy pig called Rosie, a real tractor to play on…but the best part for us has to be collecting the fresh chicken eggs and then taking them to the kitchen to be cooked for our breakfast! Oh and don’t forget to say hello to their friendly little rabbit Simon.

3: The swing and outdoor activities – This swing and its setting looks like something out of a fairytale and we all had a go. Nearby there is the pond and fountain, which had lots of tadpoles when we visited, a Croquet pitch, a giant Connect Four and a huge trampoline.

4: The Fairy Garden – this was Annabelle’s favourite part of the hotel and she would visit after dinner, each evening to see if they had taken the little note she left. It made my heart melt watching her so enchanted, whispering into the little fairy house. Just magical.

5: The Restaurant – The evening meals were fantastic with lots of lovely little touches that made the children feel extra special like their name boards. The children’s menu was perfect with lots of choice and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful and attentive.

Thank you to all the friendly Woolley Grange team for making this break so wonderful, in particular Solange who was so friendly and welcoming and became Annabelle’s ‘bestie’ instantly!

Explore every inch of this gorgeous hotel, because around every corner there is something special to discover and plenty of perfect photo opportunities. We really made some amazing family memories here and I hope we can return again soon to make some more…
