Jaques of London Review

If you love wooden toys as much as we do, then Jaques of London is the place to shop!

We were so excited to be given the opportunity to review a couple of Jaques of London’s educational toys.

This brand’s core values focus on joy and play, less screen time and more family time. They really are the experts, as this family business have been making happy memories for 225 years!

In fact Jaques is the oldest games company in the world and they are responsible for inventing many well known games, such as Croquet, Ping Pong, Snakes and Ladders and Ludo.

What’s more, Jaques of London products are designed by UK teachers and have all been created to inspire curiosity, independent thought and creative play.

The packaging

Before I get on to the toys I have to talk about the packaging…

I was so pleasantly surprised by these beautiful gift boxes. Especially because the toys are such excellent value.

Not only do their toys look expensive, but so does the packaging. They make such impressive gifts.

I actually got in touch with them to check if this packaging comes as standard. They were happy to confirm that this is how all of their orders are sent!

Reversible Craft Kit £9.99

This wooden craft Kit was the first gift we opened and Charlotte was incredibly excited. She is at nursery at the moment and really enjoys learning and being creative, so I knew this would be perfect for her.

This compact set comes complete with a whiteboard pen, chalk, magnetic pieces and a board wiper.

Charlotte hasn’t stopped using it. She particularly likes using the whiteboard to draw and practice the letters she is learning at nursery.

It is portable and a fantastic size for little hands. I also like that it can be used as a storage box, making it easy to tidy away the accessories.

I’m so impressed with this product I have already bought more as gifts!

Let’s Play Construction Bench £13.99

When I saw this construction bench I knew Charlotte would love it because she always wants to help her daddy with his DIY jobs.

It comes with a hammer, a spanner, a screwdriver, a ruler and removable screws. It also features a removable shelf with slots to hold the tools.

It is such a beautiful quality toy, made using 100% FSC approved wood and painted with water-based paint to ensure safe play.

This toy is ideal for developing fine motor skills because it encourages children to practise precise movements, such as tightening screws.

Charlotte really likes using the hammer, so we’ve had to think of creative ways to channel this energy – ‘Whack a mole’ with Play doh is a new favourite!

We’re so impressed with these toys. The quality and the value gets top marks from The Lewis’s.
